Shaker cards are more complex and time consuming than usual cards specially if you are not making them often. Today I am sharing five tips that will help you to make an adorable shaker card.
I am very excited to be guest designing for Gerda Steiner Designs in October. The company has kindly sent me several stamps sets which I will feature this month.
My first card is made with Reindeer and a Tree, a charming Christmas set. This set includes images of Santa, a Tree, toys for decorating the tree and six funny reindeers.
I partially die cut, stamped and coloured Santa on the front panel, while the Tree and the three reindeers are inside the shaker card in deep snow.
There are many fillers for shaker cards, such as confetti, sequins, crystals, beads.
I find the Reindeer and a Tree a very playful set suitable for Clean and Simple and not so CAS cards. All reindeers are designed in different poses and you can make various scenes with them.

Tip 1
For Christmas card use a flat filler such as Shaved Ice. It is shiny and semi-transparent and one layer of a foam tape builds enough space for it.Tip 2
Include dimensional bright details inside the shaker. I adhered red dots to the noses to be seen through the snow.Tip 3
Save time by using a patterned paper inside the shaker. I lined the shaker with Christmas patterned paper.Tip 4
Run with Powder Tool along the foam tape edges to seal the glue and let shaker filler move easily inside the card.
Tip 5
Embellish the card with shiny details. The final touch was to add red glitter to the star in Santa's hand.I find the Reindeer and a Tree a very playful set suitable for Clean and Simple and not so CAS cards. All reindeers are designed in different poses and you can make various scenes with them.
