The closer is the Holiday Season, the more popular stencilled backgrounds are. Today I am sharing a valuable tip for stencilling with glitter pastes and using die cut images over.
Have you tried to foam tape a die cut image to a paste stencilled background? Usually foam tape does not hold well on the paste textured backgrounds.
I am share a valuable tip how to apply pastes if you are using foam mounted die cuts in your cards design.
My today's card is inspired by AAA Cards Challenge #124 and we challenge you to make a card using a prompt word.
I made my card with Bats stamps and coordinating steel dies set sent to me by Luba Shtrigel from Gerda Steiner Designs.
I started with masking off a rectangular in the center of the card note and blending several shades of Distress inks.
Then I removed the masking tape and stamped down the web image and the sentiment in black archival ink.
A cute bat is die cut, stamped in alcohol friendly ink and coloured with Copic Sketch markers.
Prior to assembling my card I stencilled tiny hearts with a glimmer paste across the lower part of the card note.
I noticed one interesting quality of Nuvo Glimmer Paste in Moonstone. It adjusts its colour to any background. Previously I have been using it on light blue blended backgrounds, and the paste looked icy blue. Today on the fervent backgrounds it sparkles with golden shine.
I shared a working tip on stencilling background with texture pastes for cards with die cut images. If you found this post helpful and inspiring, I would love it if you share it with your crafty friends on Facebook. I would certainly appreciate this.

How To Use Texture Pastes for Cards with Die Cuts?
- Arrange die cut images on your card note
- Die cut masks from a low tack paper, Post It Notes will work for this well.
- Replace the die cut images with tacky masks
- Place your stencil over and apply the paste.
- Remove the stencil and the masks
