The Stamp I Colour Non-Stop This September | WPlus9

With a change of season I am going for a search for a perfect stamps set for colouring. This month I found a set delivering ecstatic pleasure of colouring.

I am always interested in new releases by WPlus9 Design, which I consider one of the best floral sets makers on the market.

On the very last day of August a new gorgeous release became available and I grabbed immediately the Autumn Blessing stamps and co-ordinating stamps bundle.

The Autumn Blessings set is designed in co-operation with Stephanie Low Creative, who has illustrated already several sets for Simon Says Stamp and Spellbinders, which gained incredible popularity immediately over this Summer.

This set includes a focal stamp - an opulent wreath made of sunflowers, leaves, berries and acorns, as well as individual stamps of flowers and leaves, a frame and a ribbon banner and four hand-lettered sentiments which can be used separately or paired with three typed font phrases.

I could not refuse a pleasure of colouring this gorgeous wreath and made it a focal element on my first card.

The image is stamped in black alcohol friendly ink and coloured with Copic Sketch markers.

When I have been finished with colouring the wreath, to achieve more realistic look I added shadows as if the light source was in the upper left corner.

My initial idea was to die cut a banner and foam tape it on top of the wreath, but I did not dare to hide this beauty and just stamped a Thank You phrase in the lower corner of the card panel.

To assemble the card I foam mounted the panel to a soft grey card base.

One of the benefits of stamps made for colouring is an opportunity to decide about the mood and colour scheme of your card.

After finishing the sunny light coloured card my second intention was to make a more dramatic looking card.

I started with stamping the ribbon banner down to a white card stock panel, then masking it off with a fussy cut mask and stamping the wreath over it.

The wreath stamp is designed the way that you can rotate it easily, there are no up or down sides.

To achieve more balanced layout I rotated the wreath and positioned two flowers above the banner.

Take a closer look at the hand-lettered sentiments. All of them are tilted following the shape of the banner.

Stamps are my fetish and I detest cutting and stretching them (Psst! I know there are many card makers doing this.) I prefer stamps sets designed cautiously, as this one is.

LATELY I tend to add accents with special effects embossing powders. When I have finished colouring this card I felt that it was calling for some luscious embellishment.

I sprinkled the centers of the sunflowers with coarse metallic Seasonings (SSS | AMZUS) and heat embossed them from beneath.

To set the stage for this wreath I coloured the entire card panel with a Copic Sketch marker.

I foam mounted the finished card panel to a black card note base. To glue the fun foam I used Multi Medium Matte which I spread thinly with a palette knife like a butter over the foam.

Both cards were done in one sitting. Honestly? I am a slow colourist and it takes me a really long time to colour big impressions. This is my guilty pleasure time, don't interrupt me.

I find the Autumn Blessings set highly inspiring and flexible and I have on my mind several more designs with die cuts as well as combining it with patterned paper. Don't miss them, subscribe to my blog or follow me on social platforms.
