One Stamp - Four Ways | Hero Arts

All card makers love stamps which can be used many times in different ways. Today I am going to demonstrate four cards made with one focal floral stamp.
All four cards are made with Hero Arts FLORALS NASTURTIUM Clear Stamp and Die Combo (SSS).

These are just several examples made with stamping and die cutting techniques and coloured with watercolour markers.

For my first card I stamped Nasturtium image in watercolour resistant ink in black down onto a white card stock panel and watercoloured the impression in warm monochrome shades.
To assemble my card I simply glued the panel to a linen colour card stock and added a stripe of glitter paper in matching shade.
For my second card I stamped the Nasturtium down onto a die cut mat with a stitched border.
I also stamped it repeatedly to a piece of a white card stock and fussy cut out three leaves.
I scored three lines on soft grey card note and raised the mat with the floral image using a piece of fun foam.
To add some interest to this card I popped up three fussy cut leaves with a foam tape.

For the next two cards I wanted to imitate a belly band. One of my favourite techniques is die cutting on the edge. To create faux belly bands I made double die cutting on the edge.
Firstly, I traced with a pencil borders of the faux belly band, applied the steel die over it and made a sandwich to squeeze the card stock panel only above the traced line.

I ran the sandwich through my machine and then relocated the sandwich below the lower border of the belly band without moving the die.
When I have die cut the flower above and below the faux belly band I simply trimmed the excess card stock with scissors along the traced borders.
To finish off my card I sprinkled the card note with Chunky Metallic Seasonings Embossing Enamel (SSS | AMZUS) and heated it from beneath. I like adding this seasonings enamel to my cards, this is a mix of gold, black, silver and copper chunks matching easily any colour scheme. It always looks better than simple colour drops because of shiny dimensional look.

With a help of super thick foam tape I adhered the belly band to the card note.
To make my fourth card I added gold embossing instead of stamping in black ink.
I stamped Nasturtium down onto a mask paper and fussy cut out leaves and flowers, covered the heat embossed image and then blended in several shades of blue inks.
I used a foam tape again to raise the faux belly band over the card note.

I really enjoyed making these four cards, because:
  • This floral stamp looks beautifully simply stamped down and coloured or die cut and coloured.
  • The design of this stamp allows to rotate it and position either on left or right side of a card.
  • A coordinating steel die with several openings makes an elegant die cut suitable for partial die cutting also.
  • This floral stamp impression is easy to watercolour.
  • Slightly overlapping elements can be fussy cut and raised as I did for my second card.
