Hello Everyone and welcome to our Game #119 at AAA Cards Challenge!
Our Game for the next two weeks is dedicated to Christmas.
Today I am sharing a card inspired by Debby Hughes colour blocking card.
For my card I used Festive Wreath set of stamps and dies.
I started with masking off the upper right corner and stamping a wreath with alcohol friendly black ink ( SSS | AMZUK ) down onto a white card stock panel.
Then I die cut a mask from a sticky paper using a matching wreath steel die and masked off the impression.
From an acetate sheet I made my own mask with rectangular opening with rounded corners and covered the card panel with it.
I blended evenly Stormy Sky ink and removed all masks. The impression was coloured with Copics in a very simple way without shading. I used muted Copic markers shades - G82, R22-24, and Y19.
I die cut, stamped and coloured with Y19 Copic marker three stars from the same stamps set, then glued them to the card panel. I recently ordered a jewel picker, which has two ends of different sizes and is very handy for picking also small die cuts, such as these stars.
I foam mounted the card panel to a soft stone card note and adhered the black sentiment card with white heat embossing using a super thick double sided tape.
When my card was assembled I added a few Nuvo drops.
I am also sharing this card to the following challenges:
HLS July Christmas Challenge (without optional twist)
HIMCR #360 - Christmas Colors
Sweet Stampin' Challenge - Christmas in July
Crafter's Castle Challenge #7 - Anything Goes
Craftyhalzelnut's Christmas Challenge #393- Anything Goes (without optional twist)

oooh when I saw the small thumbnail I thought the blue was painted and the wreath was placed on top, not masked, what a fab way to make you card a one layer
ReplyDeleteThank you Maaike, yes, it is enough with popped up sentiment card, and a white border from the mask makes the wreath stand out well :)
DeleteSuch a fabulous technique, love the colourful result without layers. Inspired me once again Ksenija!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jane! I enjoy the result, even a simple flat colouring can look good with some stamps :)
DeleteSuch a perfect CAS Christmas card! I haven't participated in a card challenge in a while, but I'll definitely try. ^_^ Hugs Laura
ReplyDeleteThis would be lovely, Laura! :)
DeleteThis is one of my favourite Christmas images that I don't use for Christmas cards near enough. Love your colouring!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tracey. I love this set, but last year I received it rather late and almost had no chance to use, I think only once.
DeleteThis is cheerful and pretty, Ksenija! Using the matching die to make a mask and making DIY stencil with an acetate sheet are great ideas! Cool design with the Christmas wreath off the edge. Hideko xx
ReplyDeleteGreat card Kesnija! I also thought the background was stamped after you masked off the wreath - didn't realise it was blended until I read your post!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great technique! Good idea to make a mask out of acetate; you can use it again and again!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. Thanks for sharing with us at The Merry Christmas Challenge Blog!
