Do you know that glitter is hot now? If you are not using glitter for your cards, you are missing a lot of crafting fun.
Various glitter media are becoming trendy all year long. Diversity of these media, e.g. glue, pastes, paints, markers, and liquid drops, helps to apply them to backgrounds, using stencils or adding shiny details to stamped images.
Today I am sharing a floral card embellished with two types of glitter media.
For this card I used Fuchsia stamps and die set from Avery Elle. You can recognise this set from my post HERE, in which I shared 5 Tips for No Line Colouring with Copic Markers.
I die cut and then stamped fuchsia image with black dye ink using MISTI Positioning Tool exactly in this order to ensure the most precise stamping. How do I do this, you can watch in my Youtube Video HERE.
The stamped die cut I simply coloured with Copic markers: YG01-13, G28, RV00-02-04-09-69, V01-12-15.
I stamped the sentiment from the same set in black ink down onto the card panel. I also stamped it repeatedly in embossing ink down onto a stripe of black card stock and heat embossed with a very fine white powder ( SSS | AMZUS ). This is my favourite powder for sentiments, specially for small fonts. The embossed stripe is popped up with a super-thick foam tape.
I made my own mask with a circle die, masked off the card note front and blended Distress inks within an opening. Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers ink shades is the best combination to make this Copic coloured image standing out.
I kept the circle mask in place and covered the card with the second stencil to apply Glimmer Paste only to the shaded area.
I also applied glitter to Fuchsia branch. To have more control over glitter application I prefer to use Stickles Glitter Glue. Its nose never clogs and dispenses the glue in fine lines or tiny dots if needed. Stickles STAR DUST Glue ( SSS | AMZUS ) is transparent and matches perfectly coloured images.
