Happy Monday Everyone!
I am delighted to be a Guest Designer for Merry Monday #118. This week challenge is themed by Lori and it's about ribbon and button(s) on your card.
I had to pull out all ribbons and buttons from my stash, haven't used them since last Christmas. Currently I am very fond of KaiserCraft paper pads, and I think St Nicholas pad is so wonderful for winter time. I was happy to find a striped button matching one of the patterned sheets from this pad. Here is my card made in distressed style:
Firstly, I embossed in clear powder Roman numbers from PTI Hands of Time set on a base mat and stamped a clock from the same set. Them I just had to cut and distress underlying mats. A special fun was to make a crinkle ribbon stained with distress inks.
If you haven't tried to make it, you should try, this is kind of a magic of mixing colours. There are several ways to do it, but I just applied Festive Berries and Mowed Lawn distress inks and Scattered Straw distress stain between them directly to my craft mat. Spritzed some water to make inks to mix a little bit. And then applied the folded ribbon to soak in the colours, moved it a bit to mix more, slightly tapped in some Walnut Stain DI, crinkled it and dried with a hair drier. Finally I just assembled my card.
Don't wait until Christmas to pull out your ribbons and buttons, come play with us this week at Merry Monday! Make sure you check out all DT members cards for inspiration.
Thanks for visiting! Have a wonderful week!
