Red Ombre Holiday Card | Reverse Confetti

This technique had me at red.
Red Ombre Holiday Card
Hello Everybody!
Red Ombre Holiday Card

Today I am sharing the third card I made in the same technique as THESE cards.

This technique is very trendy now and is so easy to apply that I made three cards just in no time.

Did I say trendy? Yes! Because it combines three latest things in Clean and Simple card making - red card base for Christmas cards, dramatic ink blending and colouring of a focal image in a spotlight.
Red Ombre Holiday Card

To make this card:

  • Heat emboss the sentiment from Reverse Confetti Jolly Holiday set in fine white powder onto a red card note
  • Then stamp down a reindeer from the same set in red dye ink and colour it with Polychromos pencils
  • Blend Aged Mahogany Distress ink onto the card front
  • Next distress the edges with Black Soot ink
  • To finish off the card make splatters with a gold paint and heat set them.

Why Do I Like The Red Ombre Technique?

  • It is easy to blend inks on coloured card stock
  • Just two shades of inks create a dramatic look
  • Blending inks around edges is less tiring for hands than covering a card panel completely
  • An image and a sentiment pop up in a spotlight
