AAA Cards | Game #118

Most stamps sets contain sentiment stamps. I rarely make cards without sentiments, this is nearly an inseparable element of a card.
Partial Die Cutting for One Layer Card
Today I am sharing a new way to use sentiment stamps for Clean and Simple cards.
Hello Everyone and welcome to our Game #118 at AAA Cards Challenge! I am late with my blog post, but there is still time to play along and join us.
This game challenge is to make Clean and Simple (CAS) card and use a frame. Frame is a prefect CAS element which I enjoy using very much. I have told my readers recently how effective frames are for CAS cards layout HERE.

Today I am sharing two cards made with a new set of exclusive stamps and dies by Simon Says Stamp and demonstrating another approach to creating frames.

Both cards are one-layer cards with a popped up focal image.

To create square frames I stamped down sentiments from Under The Sea Animals stamps set.

Tickle Breeze die adds enough interest to cards and perfectly matches Summer nautical theme.
How To Make a Frame with Sentiments
To create a shade under the focal elements I used negative die cuts as stencils and blended two shades of Distress inks.

I really like a possibility to use Tickle Breeze die both ways: vertically crossing my card and horizontally with partial die cutting on both sides to the sentiment frame.

Tips on Partial Die Cutting:

  • Stamp a frame firstly.
  • Apply Tickle Breeze die onto the card and fix it with temporary adhesive or washi tape pieces.
  • Create a platforms sandwich squeezing the card and the die to the right from the frame and run it through a cutting machine.
  • Keep the die in place and make a sandwich to the left from the frame and run it through the machine.

When this card was finished I added a transparent glitter.
These are two very simple and quick cards made with exclusive Simon Says Stamp products.
