AAA Cards | Game #119

Hello Everyone and welcome to our Game #119 at AAA Cards Challenge!
Colour Blocking Naïve Style Christmas Card
Our Game for the next two weeks is dedicated to Christmas.
Today I am sharing a card inspired by Debby Hughes colour blocking card.

For my card I used Festive Wreath set of stamps and dies.
Colour Blocking Naïve Style
I started with masking off the upper right corner and stamping a wreath with alcohol friendly black ink ( SSS | AMZUK ) down onto a white card stock panel.

Then I die cut a mask from a sticky paper using a matching wreath steel die and masked off the impression.

From an acetate sheet I made my own mask with rectangular opening with rounded corners and covered the card panel with it.

I blended evenly Stormy Sky ink and removed all masks. The impression was coloured with Copics in a very simple way without shading. I used muted Copic markers shades - G82, R22-24, and Y19.

I die cut, stamped and coloured with Y19 Copic marker three stars from the same stamps set, then glued them to the card panel. I recently ordered a jewel picker, which has two ends of different sizes and is very handy for picking also small die cuts, such as these stars.

I foam mounted the card panel to a soft stone card note and adhered the black sentiment card with white heat embossing using a super thick double sided tape.

When my card was assembled I added a few Nuvo drops.

    1. Thank you Maaike, yes, it is enough with popped up sentiment card, and a white border from the mask makes the wreath stand out well :)

    1. Thank you, Tracey. I love this set, but last year I received it rather late and almost had no chance to use, I think only once.

  5. This is cheerful and pretty, Ksenija! Using the matching die to make a mask and making DIY stencil with an acetate sheet are great ideas! Cool design with the Christmas wreath off the edge. Hideko xx

  6. Great card Kesnija! I also thought the background was stamped after you masked off the wreath - didn't realise it was blended until I read your post!!
