Yet It's Fall... And My Sense of Snow

Hello Everyone!

Today I am sharing two absolutely wintery cards. The first one is for Merry Monday Challenge #130:
Merry Monday Challenge #130:

This week LeAnne is challenging us to create a card evoking peaceful feeling of a silent night before Christmas.

First I made an inked background. Following Jennifer's advise I used Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean, Seedless Preserves, and Chipped Sapphire. Here you can watch her video tutorial on night sky technique. Then I die cut out a front panel and a landscape window. Below the window I heat embossed Winter in Ranger Gold Tinsel and stamped Wonderland in black. I added drops of gold Color Shine. Finally, I popped up the front panel with foam tape to add dimension to the card. I just love Ranger Gold Tinsel EP, it shines incredibly!

I am also linking it up to CAS on Sunday Challenge #44, because this time it requires embossing: heat embossing, dry embossing or using embossing pastes.

The second card I made for Addicted to CAS Challenge # 49
49 Addicted to CAS

Kylie is hosting this challenge and she has chosen the code word:

I find stencils one of the best ways to create backgrounds for many images and make one-layer cards like this one. Firstly, I stamped the sentiment and the image, then I masked of the image and stencilled the falling snow. Then I coloured the image with watercolours, and finally added a little bit of glitter.

Thanks for visiting and have a nice day!

  2. Two gorgeous cards. Your night sky is wonderful, I must have a go at that technique, and I love how you've put it behind the window, great effect. Your stencilled snow in the second card works so well too, ideal for a one layer card. Love Karen x
